Yesterday was full of holiday magic at OCPS! Our kindergarten classes were surprised with visits from Santa’s elves delivering special letters straight from the North Pole, and our first graders were treated to a very Grinchy visit complete with special treats!

Our halls are full of holiday cheer this week during OCPS’s Holly Jolly Christmas Takeover themed dress-up week! From festive candy canes, to twinkling lights, and even a few mischievous Grinches, our students and staff truly brought the spirit of the season to life!

On Friday, December 12th, the OCPS second graders delighted audiences with their Holiday music show, “An OCPS Holiday Celebration,” under the direction of music teacher Ms. Julianne Smith. Our students truly warmed our hearts as they welcomed the holiday season through song and instrumental performances for their families, friends, and the Ocean City community. Congratulations to all of our second graders on a truly fabulous performance!

Last week, Ocean City Primary School was filled with holiday cheer during our Secret Santa’s Workshop, hosted by the OCPTA! Our students had so much fun shopping for special gifts for their loved ones, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of our PTA and their volunteers. A huge thank you to all of the volunteers who donated their time to help the children shop, wrap gifts, and keep the holiday magic alive!

Congratulations to our November Staff Member of the Month, Lisa Barber! We are so excited to recognize Lisa, our amazing main office secretary, for her dedication, positivity, and the countless ways she supports our school every single day. Her warm presence makes our office a welcoming place for students, staff, and families. Please join us in celebrating Lisa for this well-deserved honor! We are proud to recognize Mrs. Amanda Kelchner as Ocean City Primary School’s New Jersey Governor’s Teacher of the Year! As our preschool instructional coach, Mrs. Kelchner brings expertise, creativity, and unwavering dedication to supporting both students and teachers. Her work ensures joyful, meaningful learning for our youngest learners. We are equally thrilled to honor Mrs. Regina Purcell as Ocean City Primary School’s New Jersey Governor’s Support Staff of the Year! Mrs. Purcell is an exceptional one-on-one aide whose patience, professionalism, and compassion make a profound impact. Today, we were excited to celebrate our top fundraising classes and top individual fundraisers from the OCPTA Fun Walk with a well-deserved ice cream party! A big thank you to every student, family, and supporter who helped make this fundraiser such a special event. Your generosity truly makes a difference for our school community!

Yesterday, our Ocean City Primary School preschool students, teachers and families gathered for a wonderful Friendsgiving Breakfast!

It was such a joy to see our littlest turkeys and their families sharing smiles, laughter, and delicious food brought in by everyone. Moments like these remind us how special our school community truly is! Full of gratitude, friendship, and togetherness.

This week, the OCPTA hosted a fun and hands-on Shoe Tying Clinic at the Primary School! Our young learners practiced their skills with help from some amazing volunteers, including members of the OCHS National Honor Society and Key Club, as well as our local heroes from the OCFD and OCPD. A huge thank you to our incredible PTA for organizing this wonderful event and to all the volunteers who helped make it such a success!

Throwback Thursday!
Multicultural Club celebrated Election Day by voting for their favorite donuts. It was a tie! They were all winners when they got to try both flavors!

Today at OCPS we honored our veterans with our Pastries with Patriots event. Students, staff, and families came together to share treats, stories, and gratitude for the brave men and women who have served our country. We are grateful for our community and the heroes who joined us today.
