On Tuesday, April 29th, Ocean City Intermediate School hosted its first-ever Pickleball Tournament — and what a great turnout we had! Students from all grades brought the energy, the competition, and a whole lot of fun as they faced off for the title of 2025 Pickleball Champion. A huge thank you to Mrs. Halliday for planning and organizing such a fantastic event! Congratulations to our champions: 🥇 4th & 5th Grade – Jackson Nath & Keegan Halliday 🥇 7th & 8th Grade – JR Dinsmore & Paxton Brunetti We’re so proud of all the students who participated and can’t wait to make this an annual OCIS tradition. Great job, everyone!

It’s time to announce the winner of the 8th Grade 2025 Paper Roller Coaster Design & Engineering Challenge! With over 240 votes cast, the competition was fierce — and we’re excited to congratulate the winning team of "Tiana’s Terrific Trip": Noelle N., Tessa D., Bridget F., and Ava C. — amazing job! A HUGE shoutout to every 8th grader who participated — your creativity and hard work blew us away! While we can’t share every design, check out a few of the awesome creations featured below. And a big thank you to Brian Hartley from Playland’s Castaway Cove for the generous donation awarded to our winning team!

OCIS closed out the week with an awesome Spring Pep-Rally yesterday afternoon sponsored by the Student Council! We celebrated our incredible student-athletes and kicked off spring break with plenty of fun and games — even the OCIS staff joined in on the action! It was a great way to show our school spirit and head into break on a high note. Wishing all of our OCIS families a safe, relaxing, and happy Spring Break! We can’t wait to see everyone back on April 28th!

Spring break kicks off with early dismissal on April 17. Schools are closed from April 18-25 and classes resume on April 28. Have a great break!

Since we'll be off next week for spring break, OCSD is holding Take Your Child to Work Day today! Some new and familiar faces will be seen roaming the halls and getting a firsthand look at what makes our district so special. From art to STEM, and gym to administration, these members of the extended Raiders family will get a taste of what it's like to be part of our school community. Stay tuned for pictures from the day! 

What a night! Our incredibly talented OCIS students lit up the stage during last Thursday’s Lip Sync & Talent Show! It was a fun-filled evening of music, dancing, and amazing performances — we are so proud of all who shared their talents. A special shout out to Mrs. Tornblom and Mrs. Pontari for organizing such a fantastic event, and a big thank you to all the staff and students who volunteered their time to make the night a huge success!

Congratulations to our OCIS 3rd Marking Period Honor Roll students!

The OCIS Mocean City Dance Club traveled to the high school this past week to visit with the OCHS Dance Team. The dance team has been working with our OCIS students each week teaching them short dance routines. Our Mocean dancers were thrilled to take a trip to the high school to see the dance studio there. You can catch our Mocean City dancers this Friday, April 11, as they will be a part of the OCHS Dance Team Showcase. Many thanks to Mrs. Morrison, Ms. Porter and the OCHS Dance Team for another successful season of dancing!

Today at OCIS, our school community came together to recognize Autism Awareness Day by blowing bubbles! Thank you to our students and staff for making this a meaningful day. Let’s continue to promote understanding, acceptance, and appreciation for the unique strengths of all individuals!

Today, on World Autism Awareness Day, we celebrate OCSD's commitment to inclusion and support. Every day is an opportunity to learn and grow together as we strive to meet the needs of all students. 

On Friday, our 4th-grade students wowed families and fellow OCIS students with their incredible Wax Museum projects! Each student brought history to life, sharing fascinating facts and information about their chosen historical figure. Their hard work, creativity, and confidence truly shined! A huge thank you to our dedicated 4th-grade teachers and team for guiding our students through this enriching and fun learning experience. Way to go, OCIS 4th graders!
