To conclude Black History Month, Mrs. Coley’s 5th-grade class hosted a "Black History Wax Museum" on Friday, February 28. Throughout the month, students researched African American inventors and explored the lasting impact of their inventions on our world today. They shared their findings with families and fellow OCIS students during the event, which ended with a sing-along featuring Swahili words they learned in class. Mrs. Coley’s goal was to inspire her students to appreciate and recognize the contributions of African American inventors.
