Yesterday, we celebrated the Ocean City Intermediate School Class of 2026 as they close one chapter and begin another. Over the years, these students have grown academically, socially, and personally, creating memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.
As they move on to high school, we wish the, the courage to embrace new challenges and the determination to reach their goals. Congratulations, 8th graders! We are proud of all you have accomplished and can't wait to see what the future holds for each of you.

This week we celebrated all of our OCIS Students of the Month from the 2025–2026 school year with a special Ice Cream Social!
We are incredibly proud of these students for their hard work, positive attitude, and the outstanding character they demonstrate each day. Thank you for being role models in our school community and for helping make OCIS a great place to learn and grow. Congratulations to all of our Students of the Month!

Reminders: The ceremony will take place on June 17 at 4:00 p.m. on the field at the corner of 18th and Bay Avenue. Students should arrive by 3:30 p.m. and enter through the front of the school. Doors will open at 3:15pm.
Students should dress according to the dress code and outdoor setting. (Ex: sundresses, skirts, dress pants, nice shorts, polo shirts, button-down, collared shirts, and flat shoes.) Please do not bring artificial noisemakers, horns, etc. to the ceremony.

Shout out to the PTA for sponsoring our 8th Grade Sun and Fun Day last week and all the parents who volunteered! The students had a blast, the weather was beautiful, and everyone had a great time. Thank you for all that you do to support our school and students!

This week started two of our three-day, 7th grade kayaking trip in the back bay. Students spent the day at the Bayside Center, where they explored local ecosystems and learned about coastal habitats, biodiversity, food webs, and environmental conservation through a guided BayCats nature tour. This hands-on experience connected directly to our 7th grade science curriculum while providing opportunities for teamwork, physical activity, and a deeper appreciation for the natural resources that make our community special.
Attention OCIS Families! There is still time to order your student’s yearbook online! All online orders will close next Friday, June 12th or until books are sold out. By purchasing this week, you will guarantee that your student receives a yearbook. If yearbooks remain after next week, they will be sold through the last day of school (cash or check). Today, our 7th grade students enjoyed a fantastic trip to the Philadelphia Zoo, America’s first zoo! They explored exhibits featuring animals from around the world, including lions, giraffes, gorillas, and red pandas. The trip provided a fun and memorable opportunity to learn about wildlife, spend time with classmates, and create lasting memories together.

OCIS staff rocking their green for Mental Health Awareness!
Today, the 7th graders from OCIS enjoyed a wonderful day on the Ocean City Boardwalk, combining fun, community, and valuable life lessons. Students visited JiLLy’s Arcade, where Jodi Levchuk spoke to them about the importance of hard work, developing an entrepreneurial mindset, and how to apply for a job. Students then spent time at the beach enjoying lunch together before continuing to enjoy the boardwalk experience. We are incredibly grateful to live in such a beautiful beach community and for the support of local businesses and community members who help create meaningful experiences for our students.
After welcoming incoming 4th graders to OCIS, our National Junior Honor Society 8th graders spent the day celebrating their academic achievements and a year of service to our school community. We are proud of their hard work, leadership, and dedication.
