Hey OCPS families! It's time to dive into a summer full of stories, fun, and adventure with our Summer Reading Bingo! 📖

Here’s how it works:
- Complete as many reading challenges on your Bingo card as you can
- Color in each box as you go
- Have your grown-up sign your completed card
- Bring it to the Primary School Library in September to receive a small prize!

From reading under the stars to reading to a pet, every box is a chance to make memories and explore new worlds through books!

Save your completed card and bring it with you when school starts!

What an incredible year it has been at Ocean City Primary School! As we wrap up the school year, we want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to our amazing faculty, staff, students, and families. Your dedication, support, and positivity made this year one to remember. From the very first day to today’s final wave goodbye, we’ve shared so many moments of growth, learning, and joy. A special congratulations and best of luck to our 3rd graders as they move on to the Intermediate School—you will be missed more than you know! Wishing everyone a happy, safe, and sunshine-filled summer! We can’t wait to welcome our returning and new students back in the fall!

Congratulations to all of our amazing 3rd Grade Spelling Bee participants! Yesterday, May 27th, the Ocean City Primary School held its annual 3rd Grade Spelling Bee, and we couldn’t be prouder of the incredible effort, courage, and talent shown by every student who participated. A special congratulations to our top three spellers: 🏆 1st Place: Lincoln Murray – Mrs. Eget's Class 🥈 2nd Place: Bridget McGlaughlin-Evans – Mrs. Naplacic's Class 🥉 3rd Place: Ford Andrews – Mrs. Naplacic's Class Thank you to our wonderful judges, dedicated 3rd grade teachers, and the incredible PTA for making this event possible. Your support helps create lasting memories and inspires a love of learning in our students!

Please join OCSD this Memorial Day weekend in honoring military members who made the ultimate sacrifice. OCSD will hold a staff in-service day and be closed for students on Friday, May 23, and will be closed Monday, May 26, for the observance of Memorial Day.

On Thursday, May 22nd, OCPS 3rd graders performed their spring music show, "Our Future is Bright" under the direction of Ms. Julianne Smith, music teacher. Students sang, performed a dance called Bachata, and played instruments for their families and friends to show off their hard work over the last few months. Congratulations to all of 3rd grade on a fabulous performance!

June will be here before you know it— and with it comes extra help through New Jersey’s Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) Program for Kids. Eligible children will receive a Summer EBT card by mail, which can be used to purchase $120 worth of food at participating retailers. Visit ocsdnj.org/page/food-services

In support of Mental Health Awareness, we’re inviting all staff and students to participate in “Wear Jeans & Green Day” on Wednesday, May 21. Please wear jeans and something green to show your support!

The final program in our Raider Ready Kindergarten Orientation series is next week, Wednesday May 21 at 3:15pm! Did you know that Ocean City School District offers a vital service called Project Child Find? The mission of Project Child Find is to ensure that all children ages 3 and up with delays or disabilities are identified, located and evaluated in order to receive early intervention supports or special education services. We’re excited to announce our upcoming Playland’s Castaway Cove Wristband Fundraiser, hosted by the Ocean City PTA! Date: Saturday, May 17th Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM Wristbands: $20 each Join us for an afternoon of fun at the boardwalk’s most iconic amusement park — all while supporting our schools! Each wristband grants unlimited access to rides during the event hours. See the attached flyer for more details and instructions on how to order your wristbands. It's National School Nurses Day, so we're celebrating the OCSD school nurses who provide comfort and caring every day! Our nurses manage screenings, look out for our overall well-being, keep up on health trends and always have a way of making us feel better! ❤️‍🩹
